Mind the Gap is a blog about politics, but it’s not political.
As Americans we are faced with a gap, a divide; a wall. Division is the third rail of US politics today: you touch it you die. But we are more than that. We are more than the issues and arguments and Facebook debates that are driving us apart. We are a nation of dreamers and explorers, of thinkers and go-getters, of individuals all trying to do the best we can in a quickly changing world.
You might agree with the things that are said here, you might not. You might find that you change your mind. The goal is not to convert you to one side or the other. The stories and thoughts published here are meant to transcend the current party lines and give you a glimpse into another world.

We have all suddenly found ourselves trapped in dark underground tunnel with loud noises and a rumbling floor. But if we can learn to listen and try to reach out across the gap, there might just be a light at the end.
